AUSTRALIA one-day player of the year Michael Hussey will jump from the bottom rung of contracted players with an incredible $380,000 pay rise next month.
The 30-year-old stands to earn at least $500,000 when Cricket Australia updates its 25-man contract list.
He is currently on a base salary of $120,000.
After making his Test debut this summer, scoring three centuries, Hussey is now firmly entrenched in both forms of the game.
It's predicted the West Australian left hander has the potential to add a further $200,000 to his earnings through sponsorships and endorsements.
With a one-day average of 97.66 after Friday night's first final against Sri Lanka in Adelaide, Hussey is now poised to be a big hit in the corporate world, according to his manager, Neil Maxwell.
"I've already fielded several calls of interest. I don't think he will struggle at all in that regard," Maxwell said.
"He's very much a genuine bloke and genuine people have a lot longer lifespan in the corporate world than people who attempt to put on or form an image."
Hussey is playing a straight bat to his new-found fame and potential fortune. After years of toil at state level, he dismisses talk of financial gain and endorsement deals as merely extras that will come with continued performance.

"I didn't think the last year would have gone as well as it has," Hussey said.
"It's been an amazing journey really. I must admit that there were times that I thought maybe I'm never going to get my chance."
Hussey added that financial gain has never been his motivation in cricket.
"I play for the game of cricket and for my team-mates. That's what gives me my buzz," Hussey said.
"I have a deep-seated love for the game.
"I simply love playing cricket, whether it be for Australia, Western Australia, Durham or whoever I'm playing for. Any other gains that come along the way are just bonuses."
